Say no to fad diets, kids!

Whether it’s Herbalife, sniffing Kale or “detoxing” on juices, there’s simply no replacement for a clean, healthy diet. In a world of instant gratification, people don’t want to hear that fat loss is going to take hard work and TIME. They want to know what they can do this week, how they can lose the most weight, the fastest way, with the least effort. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there are NO shortcuts to weight loss. Nothing. Not your juice detox, not your Herbalife shake, not your celery stick during the week and junk food on the weekend diet. Nada. It’s a process, and it requires effort. Nothing can beat good old exercise and proper nutrition.

What do I mean by “proper nutrition”? I’m talking about cutting out the C.R.A.P – Caffeine, Refined sugar, Alcohol, Processed food. Yes, it’s a big change. But it’s very doable! Many people think that they simply cannot give up sugar, if only they knew what this was doing to their body. I firmly believe that refined sugar is the root of all evil. Dramatic? I think not. To list a few things that sugar causes: weight gain and obesity, blood sugar problems like diabetes, an increased risk of heart disease, gum disease and tooth decay, increase in stress, accelerated aging and and and! Believe me now? So your first step to fat loss, cut the C.R.A.P. Then add in a few days of exercise a week, and Bob’s your Uncle, you can watch the weight melt off.

It’s as simple as that, proper nutrition + exercise = healthy weight. It’s not a quick fix, but it IS a fix.
